An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
